of Internal Alchemy
|A holistic way to self development
The School of Internal Alchemy is dedicated to education in the esoteric traditions of East and West. We systematically use ancient Eastern techniques of meditation and qigong to open up the chakras, cleanse the meridians and restore the mind-body balance.
Here is a synopsis of what we do.
Qigong (literally 'energy cultivation') is an ancient Chinese practice going back at least as far as the Han dynasty, over 2,000 years ago. Qigong predates tai chi which is a martial art developed in the C18 based on qigong training. Though tai chi is today mostly used as an aid to health, historically it was the qigong that was the foundation for the health practices of martial arts.
There are many different types of qigong suitable for different applications. Hard qigong focuses on the development of a strong external body and includes practices like Iron Shirt, needed to make the body resistant to blows. Soft qigong focuses more on the internal organs and helps fight against degenerative diseases. Soft qigong is more suited to the challenges of our Western way of life .
Meditation as a means of quieting the mind has been with us for thousands of years and has been found in the Indian yogic tradition as well as in Taoism. The purpose of meditation is to attain control and knowledge of ourselves. Hard qigong leads to soft qigong and soft qigong leads to nei gong which ends in meditation. Tantric techniques of meditation which involve visualisation can invoke powerful archetypes to release us from ancient ancestral patterns.
